Blessingway Bunting

I have several beautifully pregnant friends right now.  One in particular is close to her due date and far away from the community that would LOVE to rally around her as she faces her first homebirth - and a vbac to boot.  If I did not have a newborn, I'd be driving up to attend and cook her a meal.  However, I am in no such position.  She had a lovely idea for a virtual blessingway, of sorts.  I cannot believe this has never occurred to me before.  I wish I had thought about this for all my other dear friends whom I could not be near when they welcomed their children into the world of the breathing. 

So this bunting is for my dear friend, and will be in the mail shortly.  Hopefully arriving "in due time," but if not, please soak up these images and know I love and believe in you, you strong woman!

The bunting is filled with words that I have held to during my own pregnancies and labors, borrowed from yoga DVD's, midwives, friends, and my husband and mother.

For good measure, hung above a bed that
has held four conceptions and two deliveries.

"Every contraction brings you closer to holding your baby"
"you are strong"

"you were made to do this"
"you have all the time in the world"

"your baby is safe"
"you are safe"
"you are loved"

"you can do all things through Christ"
"be in this moment only"
"Breathe"

"you are doing it"
"trust"

Could be tied in a circle and hung as an inspirational
chandelier wherever you are laboring
(if your hubby has time to be handy).
